Story
I am a mother and an artist. I live and work in Portland, Oregon.
I've always been driven by a desire to make fine art functional — to take my paintings and bring them into everyday life through textiles, ceramics, wallpapers, silks, and more. My background in fine art, coupled with the early influence of my mother, fiber artist and clothing designer Debra Weiss, gave me a lifelong love for pattern, design, and the stories that live within them.
My Story
I am a mother and an artist. I live and work in Portland, Oregon, in a small light-filled home full of pattern, and the tenderness of everyday life. Art and family are woven together for me, they always have been, and I am grateful for every bit of it.
I've always been driven by a desire to make fine art functional, to take my paintings and bring them into everyday life through textiles, ceramics, wallpapers, playsilks, and more. My background in fine art, coupled with the early influence of my mother, fiber artist and clothing designer Debra Weiss, gave me a lifelong love for pattern, design, and the stories that live within them.
I find inspiration in Japanese, Scandinavian, and Eastern European design, as well as countless self-taught artists who remind me that art belongs to everyone. My whimsical landscapes and childlike creatures are my way of celebrating the beauty of everyday life, the places we call home, the natural world around us, and the love that binds us to both.
I am a business of one. This work is deeply personal in every way. Every painting, every blanket, every collaboration is dreamed up, designed, and lovingly seen through by me. My blankets have traveled the world, and my paintings live in private collections across the globe. I am so grateful they have found their way into your homes and hearts.
My Process + Materials
My painting process is intuitive and exploratory. I love the moment when an image reveals itself in beautiful patches of dense pattern and tiny worlds emerge from somewhere unexpected. It's that same sense of discovery I hope you feel when you wrap yourself up in one of my blankets.
Each blanket is proudly made in the USA by a family-owned and operated knitting mill I love and trust. I use thoughtfully sourced sustainable materials and production methods, because the way something is made matters just as much as how it looks and feels.
Every blanket is made from 80% recycled cotton and 20% poly, the perfect weight for year-round use, and easy to machine wash and dry. Recycled cotton is created from pre-consumer fibers and scraps discarded during the cut and sew process, broken down and spun into new yarns. It requires less energy to make and conserves natural resources. Small things that can make a big difference.
